He played Hockey in the early days of the WHA, playing seven games for the Atlanta Flames before sustaining a career-ending injury. After his injury he followed his parents into the medical field, as an RN in Calgary, AB and Penticton, BC and then to the United States, where he graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic college in 1986 and set up practice in Buena Park, CA. After 30 years of conventional practice, Dr Smith and his wife, Christine have retired in Clarkston, WA, to be close to family and the beautiful northwest.
